About CTE

​CTE has a rich history of US Congressional action, much of which came in response  to historical events like the two World Wars, the Space Race, and economic recessions. Believe it or not, CTE is the oldest and the longest funded education program in the US. It was born in the 19th century in connection with agricultural land grant colleges and universities, and evolved following every major national and world event when Congress passed laws supporting work force preparation.
